Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not keep a separate log of the terms entered in those searches.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We retain an email or other direct message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers receive routine technical details when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- Device type and operating system
- Browser name and version
- The device's assigned IP address
- Visited pages and approximate time on them
- A referring site, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They help measure traffic patterns, including popular pages and common exit points. Analytics services combine that activity into broader usage data. You may block cookies through your browser, although doing so can change how some site functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Finding and correcting technical faults
- Operating the site and improving load performance
- Routing a search request to the selected partner
- Measuring which pages are useful and which need revision
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
White Pine County Criminal History does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to records maintained by the Sheriff, local courts, Nevada RCCD, and the Nevada Sex Offender Registry Community Notification Website. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. A partner's own privacy policy controls the information submitted through its tool, including retention and disclosure practices. Review those terms before starting a search because we do not control them.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the White Pine County Sheriff, court pages, Nevada agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once you leave, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited information can be available to:
- Analytics providers measuring site traffic and performance
- Advertising networks placing content on our pages
- Search partners processing a query you choose to submit
- Government or law-enforcement bodies acting under a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices protect the information we handle. No internet system can guarantee perfect safety, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If such information is identified, it will be deleted.
Your Data Rights
Rights depend on the law and whether a particular provision applies. Nevada's NRS Chapter 603A addresses security and privacy of personal information, including verified opt-out requests for covered sales by qualifying operators. You may ask to:
- Opt out of a covered sale when Nevada law grants that right
- Request deletion where an applicable law provides it
- Ask for correction of inaccurate information
- Request a copy of personal information we hold about you
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as practices or legal duties change. An updated version will appear here with a new effective date.
